Foreign Applications
When filing patent applications it is important to have a patent strategy in place. There are several ways to obtain either local or international protection, depending on the applicant's patent strategy. It is important to remember that there is no such thing as Global patent protection, so if you only care about protection in the United States then it may be best to simply file a US application. However, if you are considering utilizing your invention overseas then you might consider filing another application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. You may also foreign file within one year of your United States filing date under the Paris Convention. Please contact us directly for more information on how to proceed with your patent filings.
